BrightTALK offers a robust array of downloadable CSV reports and this FAQ will guide through what those reports are and what you can use them for.
What are the different report types?
What are the different report types?
BrightTALK offers three types of reports:
- Content reports: These are reports specific to a single piece of content (i.e. one Talk, replay, or video). This is the best report type use for reporting on the performance of one event- such as the number of registrations and/or viewings.
- Channel reports: These are reports specific to an individual Channel and will include data from any content run in that Channel. This is the best report type for reporting on multiple contents at once (or for doing say a "Q1 performance analysis").
- Campaign reports: These are reports specific to an individual campaign and will only include data from paid leads delivered to that campaign. This is the best report type for assessing campaign performance.
How do content reports work?
Content reports can be found by clicking "Manage" next to specific content in your Channel and then clicking on the "Content reports" tab. We currently offer two types of content reports:
- Activity report: A summary or "aggregated" view of all activity that a single lead has performed. All data will be displayed in a single row.
- Activity log: A customizable report that will output a single row for every selected activity a lead takes. For instance, if you select "Questions" and "Feedback", every question and feedback comment left by users will be displayed in different rows.
For an overview of what all the fields mean in the reports, please see this guide.
How do Channel reports work?
Channel reports can be found by going to your Channel in BrightTALK Central and selecting "Channel reports" from the top navigation. We currently offer three types of Channel reports:
- Subscriber list: A list of all of your subscribers during a defined time period (one row for each). Will include basic demographic info as well as the "source" of their registration (i.e. what drove them to your Channel).
- Activity report: A summary or "aggregated" view of a lead's activity on a per content basis. In other words, all activity a lead has taken for an individual content will be summarized into a single row.
- Activity log: A customizable report that will output a single row for every selected activity a lead takes. For instance, if you select "Questions" and "Feedback", every question and feedback comment left by users will be displayed in different rows.
For an overview of what all the fields mean in the reports, please see this guide.
How do campaign reports work?
Campaign reports are always specific to the type of campaign you are running- meaning for any given campaign, you will always only have one report type. There are officially four different report types for campaigns:
- Content Lead report: A report type used on Content Lead campaigns and Virtual Event Campaigns (previously "Customer Summit")- includes a single row for each paid Content Lead delivered.
- Summit Lead report: Technically two report types that are downloaded as one (in a zip file)- one report includes the content leads from the campaign, the other includes the summit-only leads from the campaign.
- Intent Lead report: A report type used by Intent Lead Subscriptions that displays a single row for each paid Intent Lead delivered.
- Content Lead Subscription report: Technically two report types that are downloaded as one (in a Zip file). One report includes the content leads from the campaign, the other includes the intent leads from the campaign.
