How can I test my Connector?

If you have just set up a new Connector with BrightTALK and you are looking to test it, you can do so by following these simple steps:

 

Step 1: Set Up a Test Event

Step 4: Run a One-Time Sync

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 1: Set up a Test Event

You can set up a test event in your Channel by creating a new webinar and setting it as "Practice/Private."  For step by step instructions on how to do this, please see this short video:

Note: If you prefer, you can also test by uploading a video or scheduling a replay.

 

 

Step 2: Register for the Test Event

Once you've set up your test event, go ahead register for that event using your BrightTALK user account.  You may also want to have your colleagues register for the event as well to maximize the number of leads sent through for this test.  

Note: To register for your own event, you'll need to go to the link listed under "Invite your network."  This video covers where to find that link.

 

 

Step 3: Implement Our Best Practices

Before sending any test data through, we highly recommend implementing our Connector best practices to make sure you are getting the most out of your BrightTALK investment.  Information on how to implement our Best Practices can be found here

 

 

Step 4: Run a One-Time Sync

Now that you have everything set up correctly, you can move forward with testing your Connector.  To do this, you'll want to schedule a "One-time sync" which does a one-time send of data from a specific period of time.  In this instance, you'll only be sending data from today's date (i.e. when you registered for your test event).  

If you are using our Marketo, HubSpot, and Pardot Connectors this can be done by:

  • Going to your Connector
  • Clicking "Fields to Sync"
  • Clicking "Create a one-time sync"
  • Scheduling the sync for the current date like this:

Finally, if you are using our Eloqua Connector, please email Support@brighttalk.com and request they schedule a "One-time Sync for today's date."
