If you are using one of our Connectors, you have run into a field called "BrightTALK User ID." This short article will provide a brief overview of this field and how you can use it.
What is a BrightTALK User ID?
BrightTALK User Id is a unique identifier for all BrightTALK leads. No matter what, every lead that syncs to your system from BrightTALK will have this ID, making it a very reliable field to use for attributing activity to BrightTALK. If you find leads that do not have this ID, chances are they did not come from us.
How can I lookup a lead using their BrightTALK User ID?
While in most cases you will already know a users email before you get their BrightTALK ID, there are a few situations (like in error messages) where you may need to do a "reverse lookup" of lead using their ID to find the rest of their information. Luckily, as long as you are a Channel Manager or Owner this is very easy to do:
- While in your BrightTALK Channel, go to the "Audience" tab
- In the URL bar, add the following to the existing URL:
/[the user id]/summary
- A completed link should then look something like this:
You will now be able to see the leads full information and what activities they performed.
